Technical Writer


Classification: Non - Exempt

Base Salary Range: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour


Reports To: Engineering Manager


Schedule: (40 Hours a week) -   Monday thru Friday 


This position drives the creation and maintenance of the organization’s product documentation, methodology, and framework.

Maintains compliant methodology for purposes of meeting global regulations with consistency and efficiency. The role prepares and/ or assists in the preparation of documentation pertaining to products, product designs, product/process testing, and document user training. This position is familiar with a variety of the medical industry practices, procedures, and quality system compliance requirements (FDA, ISO 13485, Health Canada, etc.).

Assigned Functions

  • Manages, creates, and maintains the Organization’s current technical documentation such as device master records, technical files, engineering changes, test reports, etc.

  • Plans, writes, and edits work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures, and technical documentation.

  • Creates flow diagrams, spreadsheets, records data, etc.

  • Performs product research

  • Manages, collects engineering data, and compiles reports

  • Other Duties as assigned


Travel Requirements

  • No travel is required for this position



  • Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent

  • 3 years minimum experience in the field

  • Strong writing skills

  • Familiarity and proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)


Physical Demands

  • The employee must be able to sit for periods of time, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms, must have the ability to see and read PC screens, detect color coding; read fine print and or normal type size print; must be able to hear at normal conversation level.  Must be able to communicate orally accurately and clearly.  Must have the ability to speak in front of groups and make decisions that have a significant impact on the company.
