Inventory Supervisor

Classification: Non - Exempt

Base Salary Range: $24 - $32 per hour

 

Reports To: Inventory Manager

Department: Inventory 

Position Review

The primary goal of this position is to ensure adequate and accurate inventory quantities of materials and products which are produced and/or purchased for resale, in accordance with inventory cycles and organizational philosophy.  Accuracy in count, documentation, and item identification is crucial for this position.  This position is also responsible for the department’s personnel, training, assignment of tasks and duties, and performance evaluations.

Assigned Functions and Duties

  • Train and supervise inventory staff to organize, inspect, store and pull inventory to customer orders

  • Conduct inventory analysis as needed to solve inventory discrepancies

  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures

  • Conduct daily inventory physical counts

  • Publish inventory accuracy reports for all areas

  • Publish the status of cycle counts, review and communicate late items to be counted

  • Prepare and lead annual physical inventory counts, working with finance to support bank audits

  • Maintains and updates inventory system

  • Work with planning to maintain min/max inventory levels to ensure adequate inventory of products

  • Work closely with Customer Service, Shipping/Receiving, Purchasing, and all manufacturing areas

  • Lead daily operations meetings

  • Inform managers of product availability, overages, and shortages of inventory stock

  • Remove expired inventory monthly from inventory

  • Conduct excess and obsolete review and removal quarterly

  • Lead continuous improvement in the department

 

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or 4 years of related experience

  • ERP/MRP Microsoft Great Plains experience preferred

  • Must have knowledge of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.

  • Knowledgeable with a PC and Excel Spreadsheet Software

  • Knowledge of Crystal Reporting and/or Power BI Reporting preferred

  • Excel Level – Expert Level

  • Must have strong organizational skills

  • Must be detailed oriented

  • Must be able to multitask

 

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Must have the ability to pick, pinch, and type.

  • Must be able to lift a maximum of 35 lbs

  • Must be able to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction

  • Must be able to see the PC screens; detect color coding, read fine print, and/or normal type size print.

  • Must have the ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/ or written instructions or other information.

  • Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize own work schedule

  • Ability to apply common sense in performing a job

  • Ability to complete routine forms, use existing form letters, and/or conduct routine oral communication.

  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, divide and record, balance, and check results for accuracy.
